Stevia Lemonade

lemonsI don’t know much about alkalinizing, but I’m told lemon juice is great for adjusting your body’s pH. It’s also a great way to wean yourself off diet soda, and your kids off Dr. Pepper.

Start with

  • 1 cup lemon juice (about 6 lemons)
  • 1/2 teaspoons Stevia extract powder (white)
or 2 Tablespoons powdered Stevia leaf
  • 1 cup water

and put it all in a jar and shake shake shake! This is important if you’re using the white powdered extract, because it needs to be mixed really well. Next, just pour the sweet mixture into a two-quart or two-liter pitcher, and add water and ice to fill it up.

You may need to modify it to your taste. Add more or less water to the pitcher, and if that doesn’t quite do it, try adding a little more or less Stevia. I find that adding about 3/4 cup of Xylitol finishes off the sweetness without adding the weird taste you can get with too much Stevia.
